Digital prescribing saves ‘hours’ of administration for independent practitioners

Dr Sharon Silberstein, a medical doctor, lactation consultant and tongue tie specialist , has hailed CloudRx’s digital prescribing system as a huge administrative support for her ever-growing business.

Dr Silberstein, who runs a clinic from Centennial Medical Care in Elstree, researched the online prescription service as an alternatives service during the pandemic, but found the administrative support has freed up more time to spend with patients.

She said: “I’m a one-woman-band, I don’t have a PA, so having this support from CloudRx has really helped me - It’s saved me hours of work a month. Previously I would have to hand-write the prescription and post it, then scan in and store the paper copy. The patient would then have to wait for it to arrive before they could go and wait at a chemist to collect it – this way it’s done in one move.”

She added: “I’ve also found it really beneficial to have a digital paper trail of prescriptions. I no longer have paper copies of prescriptions floating around my office or have to spend time scanning them in, I can just log in and see the patients details all in one place. I can keep track of prescriptions, when they are due and what doses I previously prescribed. I spend a lot of time chasing or being chased for prescriptions so CloudRx has been a huge help.”

Dr Silberstein says that she’s also been able to pass on efficiency and savings to her patients. She said: “I’m no longer charging people directly for every repeat prescription and the patient is making one single transaction rather than two. The doorstep delivery is also considerably more convenient. Some of the prescriptions I write require a lot of administration by the chemist issuing them. The patient has to answer the same questions over and over again at the chemist to confirm they are ok to be issued. By sending it through CloudRx we are cutting this out.
